Underwater sports fishing may be carried out only in daylight hours and without the use of auxiliary respiration devices observing the following prescriptions and any others that might be indicated in regulations of the local Maritime Authority:
distance superior to 500 meters from beaches frequented by bathers;
- distance superior to 100 meters from fishing nets;
- minimum age for fishing with a underwater rifle: 16 years;
- prohibition of passing through areas frequented by bathers with loaded underwater arms;
- marking of presence with a floating red flag with a white diagonal band visible at 300 meters; in presence of a nautical support craft, the flag must be raised on it;
- the diver must not go farther than 50 meters from the signal flag;
- prohibition of the collection of coral, shellfish or crustaceans.
