•
Attend a Scuba diving course at a qualified school and have the specific
periodic medical check-up (at least once a year)
•
Always plan your immersions and control thoroughly equipment and the
pressure of the tanks before every immersion.
•
Always carry/wear a PDC, a watch, a decompression table, a knife and
BC Vest.
•
In immersion adopt correct breathing techniques (deep and continuous
respiration, don’t ever hold your breath, especially when coming
up again).
•
Don’t go deeper than 30 meters unless assisted by experts.
•
Go up at a speed of 10 meters per minute, following the stages of decompression
indicated in the tables. Make it a habit to have a pause of a couple
of minutes at 5 meters.
•
After long periods of inactivity, take your time to reach the depths
that were used to reaching previous season.
•
Don’t go further than 50 meters from the signal buoy.
•
Always dive with a companion (without losing sight of each other) and
always use the signal buoy. If there is a nautical support craft, the
signal flag must be raised and there must be at least one person on
board ready to intervene.
